Corn Belt Power Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, with headquarters in Humboldt, Iowa, has the following opening:
Meter Technician
The Meter Technician’s primary responsibility is to perform work associated with all types of metering equipment owned or maintained by the Cooperative.
This position will:
Program, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all metering owned or maintained by Cooperative.
Design, construct, and install metering units.
Perform voltage current checks with equipment provided.
Plan design work that is coordinated with Corn Belt personnel, member cooperatives and other utilities associated with the Cooperative.
Schedule and perform distribution and joint metering tests on interconnecting meter points.
Operate a personal computer for programming meter registers, calibrating meters, and other equipment, as needed or required for this position.
Identify vendors to locate, purchase and maintain an inventory of material required for the department.
Develop and maintain good relationships with member cooperatives' personnel and the public.
Prepare reports and records as required.
An associate degree in electronics or an equivalent area is desired or a high school diploma or equivalent with five years of electrical and/or electronic experience is preferred.
Formed in 1947, Corn Belt Power supplies electricity to nine member cooperatives and one municipal cooperative that serve farms, rural residences, small towns, businesses and industries in 41 counties in northern Iowa.
