Job Description:

Corn Belt Power Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, has the following opening at the Wisdom Station power plant:

Electronics Technician

 Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, specify, install, start up, calibrate, program, maintain and test all types of electronic equipment and devices required to operate and maintain a safe and efficient operating generation plant.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance, calibration and repair program for all solid-state electronic systems, programmable logic controllers, data acquisition systems, microprocessors and digital plant instruments and control equipment.
  • Understand and be able to develop simple programs for logic controllers and microprocessors.
  • Operate, calibrate, upgrade, and diagnose problems of the plant's continuous emission monitoring system.
  • Repair and return to service all failed or defective logic controllers, microprocessors, data loggers, computerized systems, analog circuits, digital circuits and micro-computers in a safe, efficient, economical and timely manner.
  • Understand and be proficient in the operation of all types of analog, digital, and solid-state electronic test equipment.
  • Develop, design, and maintain all electronic equipment drawings.
  • Test, monitor and work with all plant water cycles and systems.

Requires an associate degree or equivalent education in electronics technology or the equivalent approved education.  Consideration will be given for prior experience specifically in the field of digital and solid-state electronics. 

Requires a minimum of three years’ experience working with computerized systems, programmable logic controllers, and industrial solid state and digital electronic equipment.  Consideration will be given for related educational backgrounds.

The principal place of work for this position will be the Wisdom Plant, Spencer, Iowa.  The employee assigned to this position shall be required to reside at a location within twenty five(25) road miles of their principal place of work.
