Job Description:

Corn Belt Power Cooperative, headquartered in Humboldt, Iowa, is currently accepting applications for a power plant control operator at the Wisdom Generating Station, located near Spencer, Iowa. The facility operates one steam turbine generator and one combustion turbine generator.

Starting hourly rate of pay is $35.81 plus excellent benefits. The work schedule for this position is a 12-hour rotating shift.

Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Operate boilers, turbines, generators and plant auxiliary equipment in an electric generating station.

Perform work that includes day-to-day operation as well as maintenance, cleaning and security of the generation facilities while the units are offline.

Log accurately operating data and report abnormal or defective conditions for corrective action.

Test, monitor and work with all plant water cycles and systems.

 The principal place of work for this position will be the Wisdom Plant, Spencer, Iowa.  The employee assigned to this position shall be required to reside at a location within twenty (20) road miles of their principal place of work.

Experience:

Three years power plant experience is preferred. Prior experience with steam generation and turbine generator operation is helpful.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
